EuroGames 2012 - Security for all dancers and "Second European Championship"

This publication as pdf, 15 KB

Dear members,

EuroGames 2012 BudapestWe are delighted to officially announce that as of today EuroGames Budapest 2012 will have a three day dance competition between 28-30 June 2012. This competition will also be the Second European Championship, sanctioned by ESSDA.

The late announcement comes as a result of ESSDA working closely with the Hungarian body in charge of the Games, FRIGO, to resolve concerns that were brought up by our members.

Two major concerns were brought up: Media and security.

Media - the dance event organisers and ESSDA aim to have full control over who is coming to film and when. All, dancers and tv crew, will have to sign a Release Form and the wishes of all will be respected. As for private videos: people will be asked to obtain a permit, at the venue, declaring that the video is used ONLY for personal use.

Security - many aspects to the security of EuroGames 2012. As for the dancing, we will have security in and out of the building, a shuttle bus to and from the venue, and we will recommend a hotel where dancers are welcome to stay and from where the shuttle bus will go to the venue.

As for conduct in the streets, we ask that you use common sense. Be alert and respectful to the manner and code of the place.

This competition is the first in many years where we can add glamour to politics. Making it possible has been challenging, if not only to make sure that we provide the most secure space for our dancers. It is now up to you, dancers and people, to embrace the event and support it whole heartedly.

The website will be updated within the next few days to allow you to register. The fee is 90 Euros which includes the three day competition and the Gala night on 30 June, 2012.

We look forward to seeing you all there and take this opportunity to wish you and your families a happy and healthy new year.

Remember - together we can make it an event to remember.

Best wishes,
Davy Brocatus & Hadass Armon, ESSDA Male & Female Co- Presidents.
