I started with same-sex dancing in 1996 (with no mainstream dance experience to speak of). I have been competing in same-sex competitions since 1998 (both Ballroom and Latin) and have been organizing same-sex competitions since 1998, too.

In order to make competition results comparable I installed a first ranking system of European same-sex couples some years ago. In this context I increasingly dealt with the carrying out of competitions focusing on their value in sporting terms. After ESSDA was founded I went on with this issue as a member of the rules & guidelines committee.

As a board member of ESSDA I try to bring more reliability and seriousness into our competitions in order to make our sport more attractive. I'd also like to give the ESSDA board a start to become a bit more decisive and not at least a bit more international.
